Taxonomy
Yuomys yunnanensis was named by Huang and Zhang (1990). Its type specimen is IVPP V 8578, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chake Town, which is in an Eocene terrestrial mudstone/siltstone in the Chake Formation of China.
