Taxonomy
Comograptus was named by Obut and Sobolevskaya (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l S Ldov-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1267]. Its type is Comograptus comatus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Amplexograptus by Bulman (1970).

It was assigned to Graptoloidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Petalolithinae by Melchin et al. (2011).
