Maddenia lapidaria
Taxonomy
Maddenia lapidaria was named by Kramarz and Bond (2009). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 7735, a maxilla (maxillary fragment with right P3-M3, left M3, associated right P2 and left P3, probably associated partial upper canine), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Cantera, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Maddenia.
