Taxonomy
Lyncina miopropinqua was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-Malacologie, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Meilhan, which is in an Aquitanian open shallow subtidal sandstone in the Falun de Sainte-Avit Formation of France.
