Taxonomy
Tamquammys wilsoni was named by Dawson et al. (1984). Its type specimen is IVPP V5678, a partial skull (Anterior portion of skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huheboerhe escarpment (IM-1), which is in an Eocene fluvial sandstone in the Irdin Manha Formation of China.
