Taxonomy
Tamquammys longus was named by Li and Meng (2015). Its type specimen is IVPP V16505, a partial skull (Anterior portion of skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huheboerhe-Nuhetingboerhe (AS-1), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Arshanto Formation of China.
