Taxonomy
Yuomys eleganes was named by Wang (1978). Its type specimen is IVPP V5308 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xiaomazhuang Village, Tongbo, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Wulidun Formation of China.
