Taxonomy
Cocomys lingchaensis was named by Li et al. (1979). Its type specimen is IVPP V 5347, a mandible (left lower jaw with p4-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lingcha, which is in an Eocene terrestrial siliciclastic in the Lingcha Formation of China.
