Proheptaconus patagonicus
Taxonomy
Adianthus patagonicus was named by Ameghino (1904). Its type specimen is MACN A52-218, a tooth (left M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
It was recombined as Proheptaconus patagonicus by Cifelli and Soria (1983).
