Taxonomy
Pustularia (Pustularia) americana was named by Schilder (1939). Its type specimen is NMB H 11259, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cauto Fluss, road from Alto Cedro to Palma Soriano, which is in a Miocene carbonate limestone in Cuba.
It was recombined as Eopustularia americana by Schilder and Schilder (1971); it was recombined as Erosaria americana by Fehse (2010).
