Dicynodontoides recurvidens
Taxonomy
Dicynodon recurvidens was named by Owen (1876). Its type specimen is BMNH 47091, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fort Beaufort, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian terrestrial lime mudstone in South Africa.
It was recombined as Kingoria recurvidens by Cluver and Hotton (1981), King (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Dicynodontoides parringtoni by Brink (1986); it was recombined as Dicynodontoides recurvidens by Angielczyk et al. (2009), Kammerer et al. (2011).
