Eochelone monstigris
Taxonomy
Eochelone monstigris was named by Grant-Mackie et al. (2011). Its type specimen is V351A-V351AB, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Q07/f145, Whangarei Eochelone monstigris type locality, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the Ruatangata Sandstone Formation of New Zealand.
