Taxonomy
Baluchimys krabiense was named by Marivaux et al. (2000). Its type specimen is DMR TF 2979, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bang Mark Lignite Mine, which is in an Eocene fluvial-lacustrine lignite in Thailand.
