Diagnosis
| Reference | Diagnosis | |
|---|---|---|
| S. Hervet 2006 | "Autapomorphies: three
strongly marked discontinuous carinae; the fourth vertebral is short, not reaching pleural 8 (vertebral 4–5 sulcus is situated on the pleural 7–8 suture). Apomorphies (see Hervet, 2004b, for basal characters of the group): posterior sulcus of vertebral 5 well advanced on the second suprapygal; nuchal, peripheral 1 and 2 slightly elongated anteriorly; nuchal narrowed anteriorly with two slightly developed internal lateral thickenings; trapezoidal cervical with a posterior convexity, extended on the nuchal (28 to 35%of the length of the nuchal); elongated internal underlap of the cervical and first marginal; the second suprapygal posteriorly elongated; well developed overlap of the scutes on the dorsal face of the plastron; slightly narrowed and elongated dorsal epiplastral lip, almost as long medially as laterally. Plesiomorphies (compared to Geiselemys ptychogastroides and “Geoemyda” saxonica): lesser neural differentiation (neurals almost hexagonal, anterior short sides, sometimes octagonal Ne4); a dorsal epiplastral lip broad and short for its width; humeropectoral sulcus not crossing the entoplastron." |
