Provencemys lachati
Taxonomy
Platemys lachati was named by Sauvage (1873) [spelled "Platyemys lachati"]. Its type specimen is MNHN 1873-356F and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Volx-Bois d'Asson, which is in a Chattian lacustrine sandstone/marl in the Grès et Marnes de Bois d'Asson Formation of France. It is the type species of Provencemys.
It was recombined as Palaeochelys lachati by Broin (1977); it was recombined as Provencemys lachati by Hervet (2004).
