Taxonomy
Emys laharpi was named by Pictet and Humbert (1861). Its type specimen is MGL 8908 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rochette près de Lausanne, which is in a Chattian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/coal in Switzerland.
It was recombined as Promalacoclemmys laharpi by Hervet (2004).
