Taxonomy
Emys tuberculata was named by Portis (1882). Its type specimen is MGL 8901 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rochette près de Lausanne, which is in a Chattian fluvial-lacustrine sandstone/coal in Switzerland.
It was recombined as Palaeomauremys tuberculata by Hervet (2004).
