Archegonaspis was named by Jaekel (1927) [Sepkoski's age data: ]. It is not extant. Its type is Cyathaspis integer.

It was assigned to Cyathaspidae by Kiaer (1932); and to Pteraspidomorphes by Sepkoski (2002).
