Taxonomy
Cypraea pilsbryi was named by Ingram (1939). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cape Fear River, which is in a Zanclean marine marl in the Duplin Formation of North Carolina.
It was recombined as Siphocypraea pilsbryi by Petuch (1986); it was recombined as Akleistostoma pilsbryi by Petuch and Roberts (2007).
