Taxonomy
Praerosaria amoenacea was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-IM-2000-3762, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Espibos, Gaas, which is in a Rupelian carbonate marl/sandstone in the Calcaire à Astéries Formation of France.

L. Dolin and P. Lozouet 2004La coquille solide quoique pen calleuse, regulieremem marginee, de grande taille, est cylindracee, a gal be de profillegerement piriforme. La spire fait fortement saillie au centre de I' aire apicale deprimee, ombiliquee. La sole ventrale est tres legerement convexe, I' ouverture est relativement large, Iegetement parasigmoidalc. Le canal siphonal, peu profond n1ais bien delirnite, .s' uuvre largement en cornet ; il forme un pontet clans le plan de la sole ventrale, relativement court mais net, mal detache, fortement margine dorsalement. Le pli terminallamelleux est long et puissant, legerement incline, en position tangente ; il se prolonge par la lame interne verticale, extremement courte, maigre et torse. La fossula aliforme, est Iegerement concave, lisse et bordee, et l'aire columellaire est faiblement convexe. La levre interne parte 17( + 1) denticules columellaires espaces, pour la plupart d' entre eux courts, limites a I' angulation legerement abattue, les 5 denticules parietaux posterieurs s' allongeant legerement a cheval sur celle-ci et la sole ventral e. La callosite de 1' extremite adapicale de la levre interne forme une lame epaisse, en virgule. Le canal exhalant bien delimit<' est large, nettement dejete adapicalement ; il forme un pontet calleux "en bee", bien degage quoique relativement court, pen margine dorsalement. La levre externe calleuse, aplanie, est grossierement marginee; son quart anterieur pince, legerement relevee par rapport plan de la sole ventrale, pone 23 denticules labraux puissants, espaces, se developpant regulierement sur la sole ventrale de la Ievre externe.
