Taxonomy
Proadusta distorta was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004). Its type specimen is MNHN-IM-2000-3699, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Espibos, Gaas, which is in a Rupelian carbonate marl/sandstone in the Calcaire à Astéries Formation of France.

L. Dolin and P. Lozouet 2004La coquille, solide, de grande taille, est oviforme, a profil subglobuleux et a spire legerement saillante. La sole ventrale est regulierement convexe. I:ouverrure est nettement parasigmo'idale. Le canal siphonal, large et relativement profond, se situe clans le plan de la sole ventrale ; il forme un pourer court mais net et bien detache. Le pli terminal est simple, court et legerement plongeant, en position tangente ; il se prolonge sans solution de continuite par la lame interne courte et maigre, perlee. La fossula auriforme, relativement petite, est lisse et concave. I: angulation est abattue et l'aire columellaire est arrondie. La levre interne parte 19(+1) denticules columellaires minces et espaces s'allongeant depuis !'angulation abattue sur le premier mm de la sole ventrale. Le canal exhalant, profond, est fortement dejete adapicalement, borde par le bourrelet de 1' arere adapicale peu marquee; il ne forme pas a proprement parlet de pontet. La levre externe, a quart anterieur pince et a quart posterieur acumine, contourne adapicalement la coquille ; elle pone 22( +4) denticules labraux maigres et distants, bien developpes.
