Protophiomys aegyptensis
Taxonomy
Protophiomys aegyptensis was named by Sallam et al. (2009). Its type specimen is CGM 83695, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Birket Qarun 2, which is in a Priabonian channel sandstone in the Birket Qarun Formation of Egypt.
