Taxonomy
Cypraea adusta was named by Lamark (1810). It is extant.

It was recombined as Erronea (Adusta) adusta by Cate (1967) and Dolin and Lozouet (2004); it was synonymized subjectively with Cypraea (Adusta) onyx by Ladd (1977); it was recombined as Erronea adusta by Rosenberg et al. (2006); it was recombined as Adusta adusta by Jousseaume (1884), Meyer (2004) and Wagner and Warnock (2016).
