Palaeocypraea grooti

Taxonomy
Cypraea grooti was named by Richards and Shapiro (1963). Its type specimen is ANSP 30838, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Station 6. Biggs Farm, south bank Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, which is in a Maastrichtian marine claystone in the Mount Laurel/Navesink Formation of Delaware.

It was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) squyeri grooti by Schilder and Schilder (1971); it was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) grooti by Groves (1990); it was recombined as Palaeocypraea grooti by Groves et al. (2011).
