Taxonomy
Peiropemys mezzalirai was named by Gaffney et al. (2011). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Price Quarry 1 (Caieira quarry), which is in a Maastrichtian fluvial sandstone in the Serra da Galga Formation of Brazil.
