Taxonomy
Centrophoroides was named by Davis (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: K Sant-u K Maes Sepkoski's reference number: 884]. Its type is Centrophoroides latidens.

It was assigned to Squaliformes by Sepkoski (2002); and to Squalidae by Jordan (1963), Otero et al. (2013), Guinot et al. (2013).
