Taxonomy
Subathumys globulus was named by Gupta and Kumar (2015). Its type specimen is WIMF/A 1635, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kuthar River tributary, which is in an Eocene terrestrial shale in the Subathu Formation of India.
