Taxonomy
Proadusta deserti was named by Abbass (1963). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is el Kelabia, South Esna, which is in a Maastrichtian marine shale in the Dakhla Formation of Egypt.
It was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) spirata deserti by Schilder and Schilder (1971); it was recombined as Palaeocypraea (Palaeocypraea) deserti by Groves (1994).
