Apateon flagrifer
Taxonomy
Branchiosaurus flagrifer was named by Whittard (1930). Its type specimen is UMZC T.22 (formerly DMSW B.48), a skeleton (in dorsal aspect), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gottlob quarry, Friedrichroda, which is in an Asselian fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Goldlauterer Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Apateon flagrifer by Werneburg (1988), Schoch and Milner (2014).
