Taxonomy
Postexallerix mustelidens was named by Lopatin and Zazhigin (2003). Its type specimen is GIN, no. 1105/9, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Naran-Bulak, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Oshin Formation of Mongolia.
