Isurolamna was named by Cappetta (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than T Eo-m-l Sepkoski's reference number: 746,884,958]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lamniformes by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lamnidae by Popov et al. (2025).
