Eosimops newtoni
Taxonomy
Eosimops newtoni was named by Broom (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH R.5749, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Victoria West District (?Abrahamskraal Formation), which is in a Capitanian terrestrial sandstone in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Eosimops.
