Stylochlamydium

Polycystinea - Spumellaria - Spongodiscidae

Taxonomy
Stylochlamydium was named by Haeckel (1882) [3b. Tribe: Stylodictyida. Spined Porodiscida, with marginal spines situated in the equatorial plane and radiating from the margin of the disk (but without chambered arms). D. With many marginal spines (five or more usually radiating without definite arrangement). DII. With the disk having a broad spongy zone. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002); and to Spongodiscidae by De Wever et al. (2001), Sharma and Takahashi (2007).
