Taxonomy
Tachyoryctoides bayarmae was named by Daxner-Höck et al. (2015). Its type specimen is NHMW 2012/0063/0001, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taatsiin Gol West, TGW-A/3+4, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial mudstone in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
