Taxonomy
Illaenus orbiconvexus was named by Ji (1986). Its type specimen is BGM 20231, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Parillaenus orbiconvexus by Yin et al. (1999).
