(2001); to Myliobatiformes by Sepkoski (2002); to Rhinopterinae by Cicimurri and Knight (2009); to Mobulinae by Cicimurri et al. (2022); and to Mobulidae by Cappetta (1987), Kent (2018), Cicimurri et al. (2025).
