Taxonomy
Hypsilolambda impensa was named by Wang (1975). Its type specimen is IVPP V4863, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IVPP Loc. 72132, Chaling Basin, which is in a Paleocene terrestrial claystone in the Zaoshi Formation of China.
