Taxonomy
Ephemeromys hospes was named by Wang and Heissig (1984). Its type specimen is BSP 1972 XI 211, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Möhren 13, which is in a MP 22 fissure fill horizon in Germany. It is the type species of Ephemeromys.
