Taxonomy
Grallator limosus was named by Zhen et al. (1986). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BPV-FP1, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Xiiyang, Jinning tracksites (BPV), which is in a Hettangian terrestrial horizon in the Fengjiahe Formation of China.

S. Zhen et al. 1986The same as the characters of the genus (Lull 1904). The length of pes and pace is in a ratio of about 1:3.6. The step-angle is about 147°. The angles between phalanges are II-20°-III-15°-IV. The outline of the footprints is compact.

The angles between the toes are II-20°-III-15°-IV. Length of footprints is 27.0–28.0 cm anf the width is 17.0–20.0 cm. The pace is 95.0–103.5 cm, and the stride is 190.0 cm.
