Glamys fordi

Taxonomy
Gliravus fordi was named by Bosma and de Bruijn (1979). Its type specimen is IVAU BC 64 M2 sup. dext., a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bouldnor Cliff, Lower Hamstead Beds, Isle of Wight, which is in an Eocene foreshore claystone in the Lower Hamstead Beds Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Glamys fordi by Bosma and de Bruijn (1979), Freudenthal (2004).

A. A. Bosma and H. de Bruijn 1979The cheek teeth of G. fordi are relatively large and have concave occlusal surfaces. The central basins of the lower and upper cheek teeth are filled with numerous small crests and cuspules. The M1-2 usually have two centrolophs.
