Palaeoscinis turdirostris

Taxonomy
Palaeoscinis turdirostris was named by Howard (1957). Its type specimen is LACM 2604, a partial skeleton (nearly complete skeleton and outlines of a portion of the feathering of one wing, represented by impression and parts of actual bone on two flagstone slabs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tepusquet Creek, which is in a Miocene marine shale/limestone in the Monterey Formation of California. It is the type species of Palaeoscinis.
