Kaupitherium bronni
Taxonomy
Halitherium bronni was named by Krauss (1858). Its type specimen is SMNS 1539, a skull (skull roof), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Flonheim, which is in a Rupelian marine horizon in the Alzey Formation of Germany.
It was synonymized subjectively with Halitherium schinzii by Domning (1996); it was recombined as Kaupitherium bronni by Voss and Hampe (2017).
