Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
J. Weir 1931The shell is large, rather thin, slightly compressed on the flanks, with narrow umbilicus. The growth lamellae run a straight, oblique course backwards from the umbilicus, curve abruptly to coalesce along the margins of the band, without, however, producing welldefined filiform ribs as in B. martini, and separate again to cross the band as imbricating scales. The ornament of the band was entirely overlooked by DE KONINCK. The band itself is rather narrow, slightly convex, and scarcely elevated above the dorsum.
