Taxonomy
Sowerbyella gracilis was named by Jones (1928). Its type specimen is GSM 37554 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality K, railway cutting south of Haverfordwest, which is in a Hirnantian carbonate mudstone in the Haverford Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Anisopleurella gracilis by Cocks (1970), Temple (1987); it was recombined as Eoplectodonta gracilis by Cocks (2005); it was recombined as Kozlowskites gracilis by Cocks (2014).
