Taxonomy
Opis (Hesperopis) anae was named by Squires and Saul (2009). Its type specimen is LACMIP 13531 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CIT loc. 1170, Silverado Canyon, Santa Ana Mountains, which is in a Campanian marine siliciclastic in the Ladd Formation of California.
