Taxonomy
Gracilisphinctes (Gracilisphinctes) evolutus was named by Besnosov (1993). Its type specimen is VNIGRI 115/3290 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tangiduval district (upper Tangiduval Fm), which is in a Bathonian marine horizon in the Tangiduval Formation of Uzbekistan.
