Taxonomy
Heosminthus borrae was named by Daxner-Höck et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NHMW 2013/0117/0001, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Unkheltseg, UNCH-A/3, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial siltstone in the Hsanda Gol Formation of Mongolia.
