Taxonomy
Plesiosminthus olzi was named by Daxner-Höck et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NHMW 2013/0176/0001, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hotuliin Teeg, HTE-008, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Loh Formation of Mongolia.
