Taxonomy
Coelorinchus balushkini was named by Schwarzhans et al. (2017). Its type specimen is NRM-PZ P.15976 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IAA 1/90, Ungulate site, which is in a Bartonian estuary/bay horizon in the La Meseta Formation of Antarctica.
