Meekoceras emmrichi was named by von Mojsisovics (1882). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Between Monte Clapsavon and Forni di Sotto, which is in a Ladinian carbonate limestone in Italy.
It was recombined as Parasturia emmrichi by Spath (1951), Vörös (2018).
